Fight newspaper

On March 18, 2011, a week post the Great East Japan Earthquake, children distressed by the disaster created a handwritten newspaper in the shelter of Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. They attempted to inspire adults, including their parents. Yoshida Risa asked for Koyama Satoko, Koyama Kanako and Hiromi Nishimura such that four elementary school girls gathered and created the “Fight Shimbun” (newspaper).
Fight Shimbun supported earthquake and tsunami victims who were in the shelter. 50 of these newspapers were pressed almost daily. The children of a total of 12 people were responsible for the production. After being honoured by UNESCO, the editorial staff members go on covering the story of victims and developing Fight Shimbun.
