Hana-gareki

Late in April 2011, students of Fukushima Prefectural Hobara high school, including members of the art club, drew a picture of a flower in the rubble of school buildings ruined by the Great East Japan Earthquake. They stood up trying to revive their home town. The activity’s name is “Gareki-ni-hana-wo-sakaseyo (Hanagareki, Let’s bloom flowers on rubble) project”. Not only students who have hand-painted on pieces decontaminated cautiously, but also people in Fukushima have got flowers of hope.
Hanagareki is currently now aiding to cheer disaster victims’ heart through their activities such as drawing big flowers on the wall of a makeshift home.
